Widening to four lanes and Strengthening of the Existing 2-lane Carriageway of Udaipur - Ratanpur - Gandhinagar Section of NH - 8 from Km 278.000 to 340.000
The work of Widening to four lanes and Strengthening of the Existing 2-Lane Carriageway of Udaipur - Ratanpur - Gandhinagar Section of NH - 8 from Km 278.000 to 340.000 taken up by the National Highways Authority of India has been awarded to M/s. KMC Constructions Limited in November 2001 at a Contract Value of Rs. 1647.58 Millions.

The work involves Widening and Strengthening the existing 2-Lane Carriageway to four lanes and Construction of one Major Bridge and 12 Minor Bridges.

As per the agreement the work has to be completed within 2 1/2 years i.e. by May 2004. The work is in good progress and expected to be completed within the agreement period. The employer for this project is The Chairman, National Highways Authority of India, New Delhi.

The total quantities of earthwork, granular pavement, bituminous items and Reinforced cement concrete for bridges executed upto March 2003 are 23,14,900 Cum and 2,33,600 Cum, 26,160 Cum and 28,512 Cum respectively. The work is being managed by Project Manager, Commercial Manager, Equipment Manager and Other Supporting Staff, Field Laboratories with quality control equipment were constructed at suitable places.
